ASEE PH Branch and Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) Center for Engineering Education (CEE) allied to promote awareness and the importance of professionalizing the teaching of engineering in the region.
Dr. Nurzal Effiyana Ghazali, Director of UTM-CEE, and Dr. Manuel C. Belino, ASEE PH Chair, together with Dr. Andres Oreta, Engr. Conrad Allan Jay Pantua and Engr. Alexa Ray Fernando met at the Department of Mechanical Engineering of De La Salle University on May 7, 2024, to discuss networking and the nature of collaboration and cooperation between the two entities.
The terms of engagement, specifically in the areas of curriculum development, training, seminars, workshops, research, etc. will be embodied in the proposed memorandum of understanding/agreement.
As an initial activity, ASEE PH will participate in I-PHEX2024 in September 2024 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. It was suggested that after the event, a brief forum will be held to serve as a venue for sharing best practices in teaching engineering.
The meeting was hosted by the DLSU Department of Mechanical Engineering and ASEE PH Branch.
